The owner of a 2011 Mercury Milan called the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report his vehicle was stolen while he was working.  The Mercury owner delivers pizza and forgot to load the sodas for an order.  He left the engine running, went back inside the pizza business for the sodas and when he returned he saw a female driving away in his Mercury.  The LVMPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercury.

Within seven minutes of the activation, Officers with the LVMPD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercury with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Officers tracked the Mercury and located it unoccupied.  The Mercury was towed from the scene for safekeeping and will be released to the owner at a later time.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mercury Milan in August 2010 by Team Ford Lincoln in Las Vegas, Nevada.
