The owners of a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residence during the overnight period.
The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the State and Federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Tahoe.

A short while later officers from the Houston PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet Tahoe with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the LoJack signal to 11000 block of Cora where the Chevrolet was parked and abandoned. The Houston PD North Command Tact team officers set up surveillance and a short time later four (4) suspects pulled up in driving two separate vehicles. The suspects moved the stolen Chevrolet a short distance and began to remove the tires and wheels. Officers moved in and arrested all four (4) suspects. The Chevrolet was returned to the grateful owner. Charges of theft, outstanding felony warrants and possession of a controlled substance were filed.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Tahoe in May 2004 by Bill Heard Chevrolet Corp in Sugarland, Texas.
