The owners of a 2007 Toyota Camry contacted the Harris County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their driveway sometime during the previous night.

The Harris County SD deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the State and Federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota Camry.

Minutes later deputies from the Harris County SD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Camry with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Toyota to a motel parking lot on I-45 & FM 1960. Officers observed two subjects enter the Toyota; female driver, male passenger and drive away. Deputies stopped the Toyota on Mathis Church Road and arrested both subjects without incident and arrested both subjects.  The driver was charged with Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle and possession of controlled substance; the passenger was charged with possession of controlled substance.
