The owner of a 2002 Honda Accord contacted the Rio Rancho Police Department to report the vehicle was stolen. The Rio Rancho PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Within thirty minutes of the activation, Officers with the Albuquerque Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their marked patrol vehicles. Following the audible and directional cues from the PTC, the officers tracked and located the Honda. Officers took two subjects into custody and the Auto Theft Unit is handling the follow-up investigation. The Honda was recovered and will be released back to the owner.
