The owner of a 2007 Toyota RAV-4 contacted the Baltimore County Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from a gas station at the intersection of Franklin Blvd. and Cherry Hill Road in the Owings Mills area of Baltimore County, Maryland. Police at the scene of the theft determined that the vehicle had been left running unattended with the keys in the ignition at the time of theft.
The Baltimore County PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A short while later officers from the Baltimore City Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and helicopters. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to 3400 block W. North Avenue in the Walbrook Junction section of Baltimore City, Maryland. At this location, officers observed the Toyota being operated by the theft suspect. A traffic stop was made on the stolen Toyota and the operator was placed under arrest.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2007 Toyota RAV-4 in December 2006 at Toyota of Bowie in Maryland.
