The owner of a 2014 Land Rover contacted the Colts Neck Police Department to report their vehicle had been stolen from their driveway in the town of Colts Neck. The keys were left in the vehicle.

The Colts Neck PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Land Rover.

A short while later, officers from the New York–New Jersey Port Authority Department picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Land Rover, with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Land Rover to an industrial complex near the Goethals Bridge where the vehicle was found abandoned and undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2014 Land Rover in March 2014 by Land Rover of Paramus in NJ.
