The owners of a 2008 Mercedes Benz GL-4contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their place of business by a person who also had possession of the vehicle keys in the 6000 block Belair Road in the Overlea area of Baltimore City, Maryland.
The Baltimore City PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes Benz.

A short while later detectives from the Regional Auto Theft Team picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes Benz with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and helicopters. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the detectives tracked the Mercedes Benz to the 4500 block Harcourt Road in the Hamilton area of Baltimore City. At that location, detectives observed the Mercedes Benz stopped and unoccupied. Detectives recovered the Mercedes Benz and notified the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2008 Mercedes Benz in October 2007 by HBL Inc. in Vienna, Virginia.
