The owners of a 2004 Honda Accord contacted the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The victim stated that while they were in a gas station near Elverta and Walerga Streets a suspect approached, produced a hand gun and demanded the keys to the Honda. The victim in fear gave up the Honda and the suspect fled.

The Sacramento SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Accord.

Minutes later deputies from The Sacramento SD including “Star 1” the air operations helicopter picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Honda to the area of 3900 Pasadena Street and observed it being driven by a male subject. A felony stop was conducted and the subject was taken into custody without incident. After questioning the subject was arrested for carjacking and booked into the county facility.

The victim responded and took possession of their Honda.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in August 2004 by Carmichael Honda in Citrus Heights, California.
