The owner of a 2007 Ford Focus contacted the Grand Prairie Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The owner lent his Ford to a friend to go to the store. The friend and his Ford never returned.

The Grand Prairie PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Later, the Dallas Police Department helicopter picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that is installed in their helicopter. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the helicopter tracked the stolen Ford and observed it traveling northbound in the 11100 block of Harry Hines Blvd. The helicopter directed patrol units to this location. Officers stopped this stolen Ford, which had a suspect driving and another one sitting in the back seat. Both suspects had outstanding felony warrants and were arrested. The Ford Focus was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Focus in August 2006 by Gillespie Ford in San Antonio, Texas.
