The owners of a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen.
The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

A short while later, officers from the Phoenix PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet to a neighborhood near 17th Avenue and Missouri Avenue in Phoenix.
Officers found the stolen Chevy Malibu unoccupied in the parking lot of an apartment complex. The Chevy was recovered and processed for evidence. The Chevy was later returned to the owners in good condition.

This is the third time that this same Chevrolet Malibu has been stolen, tracked and recovered by the use of LoJack.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Malibu in May 2005 by Peoria Nissan in Arizona.
