LoJack® System Helps New Orleans Police Department Recover Stolen BMW 330I

The owners of a 2002 BMW 330I contacted the New Orleans Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen in a Carjacking while they were parked in front of their residence in the 7th ward.
The New Orleans PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the BMW.

Eleven (11) minutes later officers from the New Orleans PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen BMW with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the BMW to the Lower 9th Ward and located it parked hidden in the rear of an abandoned home. The BMW was impounded and processed for evidence. Because of the quick recovery evidence was recovered which will aid detectives in identifying the carjacking suspects. Later in the day the BMW was turned over to owner in good shape.
