The owners of a Mitsubishi Eclipse contacted the San Antonio Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from outside their residence overnight.
The San Antonio PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mitsubishi.

Four (4) hours later officers from the Baton Rouge Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mitsubishi with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mitsubishi as it was driven in the Airline Hwy area of Baton Rouge. The officers found the stolen Mitsubishi Eclipse abandoned and parked in an apartment complex.
The Mitsubishi was recovered in great shape.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mitsubishi Eclipse in August 2001 by Charlie Thomas Ford in Houston, Texas.
