The owners of a 2006 Nissan Sentra contacted the Tempe Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of a hotel. The owner advised that an extra set of keys were left under the front seat.

The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

Troopers from the Arizona Highway Patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the troopers tracked the Nissan to an apartment complex near Rural Road and Baseline Road in Tempe.

The stolen Nissan was found unoccupied in the parking lot of the apartment complex. The Nissan was recovered and processed for evidence. The Nissan was later returned to the owners in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Sentra in December 2005 by ABC Nissan in Phoenix, Arizona.
