The owners of a 2016 International Trans Star Tractor Truck confirmed that it was not delivered to their business in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Eleven new trucks were to be delivered from a plant in Ohio. Ten of the trucks were delivered, however one wasn’t and after checking closer, fraudulent documents had been used to make it appear that the truck had been delivered. The owner contacted the Harrisburg Police Department to report the theft of the truck.
The Harrisburg PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the International.

A short while later troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol and detectives from the Columbus Police Department Auto Theft Unit picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen International with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the troopers tracked the International to a large trucking storage yard in Columbus.
It appeared that the truck was left there to “cool off” and because of the quick recovery there was no damage. Detectives conducted several interviews and are to investigate this jointly with the Harrisburg PD. The stolen truck was impounded and will be released to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the International Trans Star in June 2015 via Commercial Sales.
