The owners of a 2010 Toyota Tundra contacted the Davis Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The victim walked into their apartment parking lot and discovered the vehicle had been taken sometime during the night.

The Davis PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A short while later officers with the Sacramento Police Department and the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Toyota to area of 6000 block of Summer Rain Way in Sacramento. The deputies observed the Toyota parked and abandoned on the street of this residential neighborhood.

The Toyota did not sustain any damage except to the ignition.  The Toyota was towed and stored for safe keeping to be released to the owner later.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Tundra in July 2014 by Roseville Toyota in Roseville, CA.
