The owner of a 2015 Toyota Camry parked their car in the parking lot of their apartment complex. Approximately an hour and a half later, the owner looked out their window and discovered their Camry missing. The owner contacted the Orange County Sheriff’s Office to report that their vehicle was stolen. The responding deputy prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime information computers.

Later that morning an Orange County SO deputy picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Camry on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) near Towerbridge Street and Finchley Place. The deputy began tracking the stolen Camry by following the directional and audible cues on the PTC screen. The deputy, along with their backup, located the Camry parked abandoned on the shoulder of the roadway. The Camry was secure and had no signs of theft damage. The Camry was recovered, towed to the police impound yard for safekeeping and removed from state and federal crime information computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2015 Toyota Camry in March 2015 by Central Florida Toyota in Orlando, Florida.
