The owner of a 2006 Mazda MX5 parked her vehicle in the garage of her residence. When she woke up, she found her residence had been burglarized and her Mazda was stolen. The owner contacted the Las Vegas Metro Police Department to report the burglary and Mazda as stolen.
The LVMPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mazda.

Within 25 minutes of the activation, an Officer from the LVMPD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mazda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Officer tracked the Mazda to the area of Antelope and Westcliff and found the vehicle to be abandoned. The Mazda was released back to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mazda MX5 in August 2005 by Magic Mazda in Las Vegas, Nevada.
