The owners of a 2004 Jeep Cherokee contacted the San Antonio Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their apartment parking space.

The San Antonio PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the State and Federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Jeep.

A short while later officers from the San Antonio PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Jeep with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Jeep to a large apartment complex parking lot where it was parked and abandoned. The Jeep was stored pending notification of the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Jeep Cherokee in August 2006 by Gillespie Ford in San Antonio, Texas.
