The owners of a 2008 Lincoln trailer mounted welder contacted the San Antonio Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from a construction site in San Antonio, Texas.

The San Antonio PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the State and Federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lincoln welder.

Later the same day deputies from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department  picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen welder with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the welder to a warehouse district where the unit was parked behind the building. The welder was released to the owner.  No suspects in this case.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lincoln trailer mounted welder in September 2008 by commercial sales.
