The owners of a 2006 Scion SUV contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residential driveway.

The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the State and Federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Scion.

A short while later officers from the Houston PD  picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Scion with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Scion to 600 Maywell off of Telephone Road and Gulf Freeway where it was parked and abandoned in a small retail parking lot. Officers set up surveillance with negative results. The Scion was processed for prints and released to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Scion SUV in May 2007 by Mike Calvert Toyota in Houston, TX.
