The owners of a 2013 Ford F150 pickup contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the strip mall parking lot at 4400 North Shepherd while they were shopping.

The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the State and Federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford pickup.

A short while later officers from the Houston PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to a motel parking lot on Cavalcade near Bussell where it was parked and abandoned. Officers maintained surveillance for a period of time and when no activity occurred they recovered the Ford and processed it for prints prior to the release to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F150 in August 2014 by Lone Star Chevrolet in Houston, Texas.
