This Pontiac Firebird was stolen from the owner’s apartment complex located on SW Murray Boulevard in Beaverton. This occurred sometime during the early morning hours.

The theft was reported to the Beaverton Police Department who verified the report and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Pontiac.
Just eight minutes after activating the LoJack, the Beaverton PD officers picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Pontiac on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Pontiac was located at SW 6th Street & SW Fairview Court in Beaverton.

The Pontiac did not appear to be damaged.  It was released to the owner who purchased the Pontiac used and was not aware it was equipped with LoJack.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Pontiac Firebird in February 2000 by J. Koons Pontiac in Vienna, Virginia.
