The owner of a 2002 BMW 325 contacted the Albuquerque Police Department to report the vehicle was stolen.  The owner stated it was stolen from the area of Pennsylvania and Central.  The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the BMW.

Within just minutes of the activation, officers with the Albuquerque PD Southeast Area Command and detectives with the Auto Theft unit picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen BMW with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol and undercover vehicles.  Following the audible and directional cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen BMW to the area of Aliso and Silver where it was found abandoned.  The BMW was processed for evidence and will be released to the owner.  This was the second time this BMW has been reported stolen, tracked and recovered by Police using the LoJack PTC.
