The owners of a 2006 Dodge Charger contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of an apartment complex.

The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge.

A short while later the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge was picked up by a LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the stolen Dodge Charger was tracked to the area of 19th Avenue and Bell Road in Phoenix.

The Dodge was located in a fast food parking lot where a suspect was observed exiting the vehicle and going into the restaurant.  The Phoenix PD responded and was able to identify and locate the suspect inside the fast food restaurant.  The suspect was taken into custody without incident.  The male suspect was in possession of the valet key from the stolen Dodge along with an Arena Football Championship ring belonging to the victim.  The suspect was wanted by Phoenix PD for questioning in several other vehicle burglaries.   The suspect was arrested and booked for the theft of the Dodge.

The Dodge was processed for evidence and later returned to the owners in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge Charger in May 2006 by Avondale Dodge in Arizona.
