The owners of a 2005 Chevrolet C1500 pickup contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residential driveway sometime during the previous night.

The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the State and Federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

A short while later South Houston Police Department officers picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet to 1300 block of Pennsylvania where it was parked and abandoned. The Chevrolet had entry and ignition damage. The Chevrolet was stored pending owner notification.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet C1500 in October 2005 by Davis Chevrolet GEO in Houston, Texas.
