The owners of a 2006 Ford F350 pickup contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the restaurant parking lot in the 6000 block of the Gulf Freeway while they were inside having a meal.

The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the State and Federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford pickup.

A short while later officers from the Houston PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to 6900 Sherwick to a vacant house. As the officers approached several male suspects ran from the location. The officers were unable to locate the suspects and the Ford was processed for prints and released to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F350 Pickup in August 2007 by Champion Ford Gulf Freeway in Houston, Texas.
