This Toyota was stolen from the owner’s residence located in the 15900 block of South Brook Court in Vancouver. It was taken during the day. Another car belonging to the owner was car prowled and thieves located a jacket in that car that had keys to the Toyota in a pocket.

When the theft was discovered it was reported to the Vancouver Police Department who verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

That same afternoon, a Washington State Patrol trooper picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Toyota was located at 31st & “R” Street. Both license plates were missing.

The Toyota was abandoned and apparently not damaged. The Toyota was released to the owner.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Yaris in September 2006 by Burt Toyota in Englewood, Colorado.
