The owners of a 2011 Bobcat 3400D Utility Vehicle contacted the New Albany Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen overnight off of a job site.

The New Albany PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Bobcat.

A short while later a vehicle equipped with a LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Bobcat.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, it was determined that the signal was coming from a farming area that involved several property owners in Johnstown.

At the request of the New Albany PD, the Ohio State Highway Patrol launched an aircraft equipped with a PTC and was able to locate the stolen Bobcat in a cornfield on the edge of a wooded area almost a mile from the roadway.

The suspects were later identified and charges are pending further investigation.  The stolen Bobcat was impounded and later returned to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Bobcat 3400D in February 2013 via Commercial Sales.
