The owners of a 2002 Lexus S-430 contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from a repair facility in the 2000 block Ashburton Street in Baltimore City, Maryland. Investigation conducted by police on the scene found that an extra key to the Lexus was kept inside the vehicle console and most likely used to steal the vehicle.

The Baltimore City PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

A short while later detectives from the Regional Auto Theft Team picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Lexus to the 800 block N. Warwick Avenue in Baltimore City. At this location, detectives recovered the parked and unoccupied Lexus.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2002 Lexus S-430 in April 2002 by Len Stoler Lexus in Owings Mills, Maryland.
