The owners of a 2001 Chrysler Sebring contacted the Ventura Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The Ventura PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chrysler.

Five (5) minutes later, patrol officers from the Oxnard Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chrysler with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chrysler to the area of Robert Ave and “A” Street. Additional units responded and set up a perimeter around the Chrysler. The suspect returned to the Chrysler and was taken into custody for auto theft related charges without incident.

The Chrysler was impounded for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chrysler in November 2000 by Star Chrysler-Jeep in Glendale, CA.
