The owner of this Nissan discovered his vehicle was stolen sometime during the afternoon or evening hours from Sixth Avenue & Olive Street in Seattle.

When the theft was discovered it was reported to the Seattle Police Department who verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

Just thirty minutes later, several Seattle PD officers including a K9 unit picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Nissan was located near East Union and Belmont Avenue.

Three suspects were getting out of the Nissan. The officer called for backup and when assistance arrived they confronted the suspects. One decided to run. The K9 was deployed and the suspect was quickly tracked to a nearby parking area hiding under a car. He was arrested and booked into jail. The other two occupants were questioned and released.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan when it was purchased as a used car in November 2009 by Titus Will Ford in Tacoma, Washington.
