The manager of a local dealership reported that a 2015 Toyota Avalon had been taken from the dealer using false information. The Toyota was reported to the Gwinnett County Police Department.

The Gwinnett County PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A short while later officers with the Georgia State patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that was installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the trooper was able to locate the stolen Toyota.

The officers tracked the Toyota to a parking lot where it was found abandoned and in excellent condition.

A Gwinnett County PD Detective went to the scene of the recovery to process it for prints and hopefully make an arrest.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota in December 2014 by an Atlanta area new car dealer.
