The owner of a 2007 Ford Focus contacted the Mansfield Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen. The owner‘s son had several friends over to the house.  When the friends left, the owner noticed that her car keys and her Ford were missing.  No one had permission to take her Ford.

The Mansfield PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Later, officers from the Dallas Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Ford to a restaurant parking lot in the 2500 block of W. Davis St.  There were several suspects standing around this stolen Ford.  When the officers approached the suspects, a couple ran off, but the officers were able to detain three of them.  The suspects were in possession of illegal drugs and were arrested.  The Ford Focus was recovered in good condition and the keys were found in the ignition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Focus in August of 2007 by Grand Prairie Ford in Texas.
