The owner of a 2010 Nissan Sentra contacted the New York Police Department 69 precinct, Canarsie Brooklyn, to report that her vehicle was stolen. The owner stated the following, she parked it by her house and when she came out for it in the afternoon she found it missing.

The NYPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the stolen Nissan.

A short while later, Police Officers from the 63 precinct, Flatbush Brooklyn, picked up the silent signal from the LoJack® System installed on the stolen Nissan on their LoJack Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack® computers, they tracked the signal into East Flatbush section of Brooklyn, confines of the 63 precinct. There they tracked the Nissan which was parked on a residential street.  They decided to stake the Nissan out; they staked it out for a short while. However when no one showed up for it, they took the Nissan into custody. The Nissan was recovered with minor body damage; apparently the thief had an accident and had abandoned the vehicle.  The owner was contacted and she was elated that her Nissan was recovered so quickly, even though it had minor damage on it.  The owner stated that she was happy that her Nissan was equipped with LoJack when she purchased the vehicle. Further stating that if it wasn’t for LoJack her Nissan may not have been recovered at all.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2010 Nissan Sentra in March 2011 by Enterprise in East Elmhurst, New York.
