The owner of a 2001 Ford Van E250 contacted the New York Police Department 67precinct to report that his vehicle was stolen from him. The owner stated the following, he parked it by his house and when he came out for it in the morning it was missing.

The NYPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the stolen Ford.

A short while later, Officers from the 63 precinct picked up the silent signal from the LoJack® System installed on the stolen Ford on their LoJack Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack® computers, they tracked the signal into East Flatbush section of Brooklyn, confines of the 67 precinct. There they tracked the Ford which was parked on a residential street.  They decided to stake the Ford out; they staked it out for a short while. However when no one showed up for it, they took the Ford into custody. The Ford was recovered with no damage and the owner was contacted. He was elated that his Ford was recovered so quickly, especially with no damage on it.  The owner stated that he was happy that his Ford was equipped with LoJack when he purchased the vehicle. Further stating that if it wasn’t for LoJack his Ford may not have been recovered at all.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2001 Ford E 250 in March 2001 by DiBlasi Ford in Corona, New York.
