The owner of a 2003 Nissan Murano contacted the Paterson Police Department, New Jersey, to report that her vehicle was stolen. The owner stated the following, she parked it by her house and when she came out for it in the morning she found it missing.

The Paterson PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Stolen Nissan Murano.

A short while later, Detectives from the New York Police Department Auto Crime Unit picked up the silent signal from the LoJack® System installed on the stolen Nissan on their LoJack Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, they tracked the signal into South Bronx section of the Bronx, confines of the 41 precinct. There they tracked the Nissan which was parked on a residential street.  They decided to stake the Nissan out; they staked it out for a short while. However when no one showed up for it, they took the Nissan into custody. The Nissan was recovered with no damage; apparently it had been taken with the key. The owner was contacted. She was elated that her Nissan was recovered so quickly, especially with no damage on it.  The investigation is still continuing by the Paterson PD Detectives.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2003 Nissan Murano in February 2003 by A-Z Sound System in Hartford, Connecticut.
