The owners of a Honda Accord contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from their residence.

The Phoenix PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short while later, officers from the Phoenix PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to a neighborhood near 14th Drive and Baseline Road.

The vehicle was mobile when located and the Phoenix PD attempted a high risk traffic stop.  The two suspects bailed from the vehicle and fled on foot into the neighborhood.   A perimeter was established and both juvenile suspects were taken into custody without incident.  The Honda was recovered and processed for evidence before being towed from the scene for safekeeping.  The Honda was later returned to the owners in good condition.

The same Honda was stolen, tracked and recovered by the use of LoJack one month prior to this theft.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in June 2001 by Autoland in Sherman Oaks, California.
