The owners of a 2001 Chrysler Voyager contacted the Chicago Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from in front of their residence on the 5100 block of S Justine in Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood.  The Chicago PD responded to the scene and after verifying facts as presented entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chrysler.

Soon after the Chrysler was entered, Officers from the Chicago PD Deering District picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chrysler with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  The Chicago PD tracked the Chrysler to the 5000 block of S Elizabeth where the Chrysler Voyager was recovered parked and unoccupied behind an abandoned building. The Chrysler had suffered some damage to its steering column and ignition during the steal but was otherwise undamaged.

The Chrysler Voyager minivan was recovered less than three hours after it was reported stolen and returned to a grateful owner.
