The owner of a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu contacted the Akron Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen.  The victim woke to find one of her windows had been damaged and her car keys missing from where she had left them.  Upon checking further she found her Chevrolet was also missing.

The Akron PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

A short while later officers from the Akron PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet which appeared to be moving.

Upon seeing the police, the suspects pulled into a driveway of an Akron residence and fled on foot.  All three suspects were arrested after a short foot chase.  Because of the quick recovery the suspects were unable to strip the vehicle or use it to commit additional crimes.  The Chevrolet was processed on the scene and returned to an owner that was very happy that she had her vehicle equipped with a LoJack® System.
