The owners of a 2006 Saturn Ion contacted the Tucson Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen.

The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Saturn.

A short while later, troopers from the Arizona Highway Patrol and officers from the Buckeye Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Saturn with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers and troopers tracked the Saturn to a neighborhood near 221st Avenue and Yuma Road in Buckeye.

The Saturn was found unoccupied on a side street in the neighborhood.   The Buckeye PD recovered the Saturn and processed it for evidence.  The Saturn was recovered in good condition, towed from the scene and stored for the owners.  Additional investigation is being conducted by the Tucson PD on the known suspect.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Saturn Ion in May 2006 by Saturn of Arrowhead in Peoria, Arizona.
