The owners of a 2005 Chevrolet C1500 pickup contacted the Harris County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from a large commercial shopping center parking lot off I-10 East in Harris County while they were shopping.

The Harris County SD deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the State and Federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet pickup.

Minutes later police officers from the Pasadena Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that is installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet to an apartment complex parking lot near Spencer Hwy and Pasadena Blvd. where the vehicle was parked and abandoned. Officers set up surveillance with negative results. The Chevrolet was stored pending notification of the owner. The Chevrolet sustained entry and ignition damage.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet C1500 pickup in August 2008 by Mac Haik Chevrolet in Houston, Texas.
