This BMW was stolen from the owner’s workplace parking lot in the 600 block of Garden Avenue North in Renton.  The theft occurred sometime during a two to three hour period while the owner was away from the car.

When the theft was discovered it was reported to the Renton Police Department who verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the BMW.
Seattle Police Department officers picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen BMW on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following directional and audible cues from the PTC, the BMW was located inside a parking garage in the 400 block of Fourth Avenue.  It was abandoned and undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the BMW in September of 1996 by Bayside BMW in Douglaston, New York.
