The owners of a Honda Civic contacted the Evans Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from a parking lot in the city.

An officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Later a Colorado State Patrol aircraft on patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda Civic with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the pilot tracked the Honda to a commercial neighborhood in Southwestern Greeley.

Patrol officers with the Colorado State Patrol and Evans Police Department were vectored in to the area by the pilot.  The Civic was located in a private towing company storage yard on 1st Avenue.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in April 2003 by Honda of Greeley in Colorado.
