The owners of a 2009 Infiniti G37 contacted the Fontana Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The Fontana PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Infiniti.

Fourteen (14) minutes after the activation, patrol officers from the Fontana PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Infiniti with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Infiniti to the area of Cottonwood Ave and Arrow Blvd. The officers located the Infiniti parked at an Apartment complex. Additional units responded to the location and set up a perimeter. A female suspect was then observed driving the Infiniti out of the complex. A traffic stop was conducted and the suspect was taken into custody for auto theft related charges without incident. The suspect was in possession of the ignition key.

The Infiniti was impounded for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Infiniti in February 2010 by Infiniti of Mission Viejo, CA.
