The owners of a GMC Jimmy contacted the Denver Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen.  A police officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the GMC sport utility vehicle.

A short while later both Lakewood Police Department and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office officers picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Jimmy with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC a deputy with the Jefferson County SO tracked the GMC to a residential neighborhood near South Quail Street and West Powers Avenue.  The GMC was recovered undamaged, the ownership conflict between past and present owners resolved and the stolen vehicle entry canceled.

The LoJack® System was installed in the GMC Jimmy in March 1999 by Villa Marin GMC in Staten Island, New York.
