The owners of a 2009 Toyota Camry contacted the Newark Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their home in the City of Newark.

The Newark PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota Camry.

A short while later, Detectives from the New Jersey State Police Auto Theft Unit picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Detectives tracked the Toyota to Dover Street in the City of Newark, where the vehicle was located parked on the street. The Toyota was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2009 Toyota Camry in October of 2008 by Route 22 Toyota Inc., in Hillside, New Jersey.
