The owner of a 2013 Infiniti G37 2-door coupe left their car at their relative’s home while they were in the hospital. The relative discovered that their Infiniti was burglarized and the key to the owner’s car was stolen along with the Infiniti. The owner’s relative contacted the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to report that their Infinity was stolen. In the meantime, the Florida Highway Patrol had stopped the Infiniti for traffic infractions, resulting in the vehicle being towed and the driver being issued a plethora of citations.

The responding deputy prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime information computers.

Immediately upon activation, a Palm Beach County SO deputy picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen G37 on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC).  The deputy began tracking the stolen G37 by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC screen. The deputy, along with their backup, located the G37 at the Florida Highway Patrol impound yard. The deputy contacted the trooper who had towed the G37 and both officers responded to the home of the driver of the vehicle. At the home the officers met with the driver and the passenger. After further investigation, the FHP trooper arrested the passenger for Grand Theft Auto of the stolen G37. The G37 was recovered, remained at the police impound yard until the owner’s relative could retrieve it and removed from state and federal crime information computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2013 Infiniti G37 2-door coupe in March 2013 by Infiniti of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach, Florida.
