The owner of a 1999 Honda Civic contacted the Albuquerque Police Department to report that their Honda was stolen from their residence in the Southeast Area Command.  The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Within 30 minutes of the activation, the Albuquerque PD officers picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda in the Foothills Area Command with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the audible and directional cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to a residential neighborhood in the Foothills Area Command where it was found abandoned.  The Honda was returned to the owner at the recovery scene.  This was the second time the Honda was stolen and recovered using LoJack in the past three months.
