This Acura was stolen from an apartment complex in the 900 block of Aberdeen Avenue NE in Renton.  The Acura was owned by a used car dealership and an employee was allowed to drive it home.  Sometime during the night it was stolen.

The theft was reported to the Renton Police Department who verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Acura.
Later that afternoon, a Washington State Trooper picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Acura using the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Acura was located in the 13700 block of Coal Mine Road, south of Seattle.  It was in the process of being stripped.  Consent to search was obtained from the owner of the residence.  Inside a garage, troopers located a classic restored 1972 Chevrolet pickup, undamaged, that was stolen from Tukwila four days earlier.

Detectives were called to the scene to take over the investigation.  Suspect information was developed that resulted in an arrest.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Acura Integra in January of 2002 by Scottsdale Acura in Scottsdale, Arizona.
