The owners of a 2008 Chevy Trailblazer contacted the Fort Collins Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from their residence.

A police officer verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers.  This action automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Trailblazer.

Just minutes later officers with the Colorado State University Police Department in Fort Collins picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, these officers tracked the Chevy to the 1500 block of Peterson and observed that it was unoccupied upon their arrival.  These officers set up surveillance on the Chevy to see if the suspect would return and in short order their plan was rewarded when the suspect did return to the vehicle.  A short foot pursuit resulted when the suspect attempted to flee but was safely taken into custody moments later.  The Trailblazer was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer at the request of the current owners in November 2008 when they purchased the vehicle from Enterprise Auto Sales in Denver, Colorado.
